Qoffa is the Moroccan word for the market basket: the one every household owns, carried to the souk in the morning and brought home full by noon. This one has been fitted for the shoulder.
It’s woven by hand from palm leaf in Marrakech, in a tight herringbone. Two long leather straps are riveted through the rim and reinforced with leather plates inside, and a leather tab on the front finishes it. The straw stays natural. The leather is a warm tan-brown with a natural grain that will mark and darken with use.
It’s open-top and unlined, in the traditional way, so it airs out after a wet swimsuit. It’s made for everyday loads: market shopping, a beach towel, a book and a bottle. For heavy hauls, look at the Marjana, where the straps run the full height of the basket.

Each Qoffa is woven and finished by hand, so weave, size and leather tone vary slightly from bag to bag. That’s part of its character.
Care: Keep it dry where you can, and air-dry away from heat if it gets wet. Dust with a dry brush. Condition the leather occasionally with a colorless balm, because tinted products mark pale straw. New palm straw may shed a few fibers for the first few weeks.
