In 1325, Ibn Battuta left Tangier and spent the next thirty years travelling. His book about it was called the Rihla, “the journey.” This bag is made for shorter trips, but in the same spirit.
It’s cut and stitched by hand in Marrakech from cognac leather with a rich pull-up finish that darkens and deepens the more you use it. The zip runs in a wide U around the top, so the bag opens fully and you can see everything inside at once, with no digging for your charger at the bottom. Rolled leather handles are attached with antique-brass rings, and the interior is lined, with a zip pocket for the small things.
It’s taller than a standard duffle and sized for three or four nights away, or a heavy week at the gym.

Each Rihla is cut and stitched by hand from an individual hide, so tone and grain vary from bag to bag. That’s the leather, not a flaw.
Care: Wipe with a dry cloth. Use only a colourless leather balm every few months, because tinted products stain cognac leather. Let it air-dry naturally if it gets wet.
